Mission
To provide Monroe County children and adults with intellectual disabilities:
- Year-round sports training in preparation for athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports;
- Opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Vision
To empower people with intellectual disabilities to realize their full potential and develop their skills through year-round sports training and competition. As a result, Special Olympics athletes become fulfilled and productive members of their families and the communities in which they live. Special Olympics is an experience that is energizing, healthy, skillful, welcoming and joyful.

Management Team
Special Olympics Indiana – Monroe County is governed by a volunteer Management Team. Our Management Team is responsible for recruiting new athletes, organizing training programs, coordinating volunteers, and raising funds to support the local Special Olympics program.
Now in its second year, the Monroe County Management Team working hard to grow the Special Olympics program in our area. We have two positions open on our team: Fundraising Coordinator and Outreach Coordinator.
