Join our Volunteers

Special Olympics Indiana – Monroe County seeks remarkable volunteers 18 years and older to assist athletes during sports training practices.

Volunteers for basketball, bowling, golf, softball, and athletics (track & field) are considered Class A Volunteers, and are required to attend a two-hour, entry level training session. We also ask that volunteers commit to 2 hours/week to the sport.

Basketball Assist coaches in teaching fundamental basketball skills Sundays, times TBA (Fall & Winter) Banneker Community Center, 930 W. 7th St., Bloomington
Bowling Assist coaches in teaching, participant registration, lane supervision Wed., 6:00-8 p.m. OR Sun., 1:15-2:00 p.m. (Fall, Winter & Spring) Classic Bowling Lanes, 1421 Willis Drive, Bloomington
Golf Work one-on-one with athletes to teach basic golf skills. Compete with other golf team pairs. Wednesdays, 6 p.m. (June–August) Cascades Golf Course, 3550 N. Kinser Pike, Bloomington
Softball Demonstrate and assist athletes in learning softball techniques; assist in tournament. Sundays, 2:00 pm Mondays, 5:30 pm (June–August)
